MANUAL INSTALLATION OF LIGHTHOUSE TRADER

REMEMBER: you must install the Java runtime environment on your PC before you can install Lighthouse Trader. If you have not already done so, please visit the Minimum System Requirements page for details on how to do this.

To download and install Lighthouse Trader manually, follow these simple steps.

1. Create a new directory on your PC:  C:\LighthouseTraderApp
   
   If you are installing to a Mac, you might want to create the directory
   /Applications/LighthouseTraderApp
   
   If you are upgrading an existing version of Lighthouse Trader, you may use the same directory as before. In this case you do not need to create a new directory.
   
   
2. Download each of the following files by clicking on their name. Save them to the newly created LighthouseTraderApp directory.

   lighthousetrader.jar

   ltref.jar

   ltres.jar

   commons-httpclient-2.0.jar

   commons-logging.jar

   commons-logging-api.jar

If your browser does not give you the opportunity to specify the directory where these files will be placed, you will need to change your browser’s preferences to allow you to specify the download directory. To do this in FireFox, for example, go to the Tools.Options menu item (FireFox.Preferences on some versions), click the Download icon, and choose "Ask me where to save every file".

3. After you have downloaded the files, create a shortcut on the desktop which may be used to start the application. Here's how (for Windows users).
   
   
1. Right-click on the desktop and choose New.Shortcut
   
2. When prompted for the location of the item, Browse to C:\LighthouseTraderApp and click on the lighthousetrader.jar file
   
3. Click the Next button
   
4. Type a new title for this shortcut: "Lighthouse Trader"
   
   
4. You can now start the application by double-clicking on the new desktop shortcut. It may take up to 15 seconds for the application to appear after you have double-clicked on the shortcut.
