Instructions for Automatic installation of Lighthouse Trader

REMEMBER: you must install the Java runtime environment on your PC before you can install Lighthouse Trader. If you have not already done so, please visit the Minimum System Requirements page for details on how to do this.

You should be logged on to your PC with a user account that has administrative privileges. This is required when installing new software under Windows XP.

Click the following DOWNLOAD button to install, and launch the application
using Java Web Start technology:
Lighthouse Trader version 1.0 beta 1

Here is the normal sequence of pop-up windows you should see as the installation progresses, assuming you are using Internet Explorer. If you are using FireFox, click here to view the FireFox install procedure.

In the following popup window, choose “open this file from its current location” and
click OK.

It may ask you what application to use to open lighthousetrader.jnlp with. If so, it should present you with a list of choices. Any of the following selections will work:

• JNLPFile
• Java Web Start
• javaws.exe

If you see something like the following in your browser when you click on the above link,

and none of the above-mentioned selections (eg. JNLPFile, Java Web Start, or javaws.exe) appear in the list, it means you probably have not yet installed the Java runtime environment on your PC, or simply that “java web start” technology is not supported on your platform. Install the Java runtime environment if you haven’t already done so. See Minimum System Requirements for instructions on how to do this. Or click on the manual instructions link to manually download and install the application.

Next you will see the a popup indicating Java is starting.

Then you will see a popup showing the progress of the downloading of the Lighthouse Trader application files.

Next you will see a popup window indicating that the application's digital signature has
been verified. Click the "Run" button to continue with the installation.

When you see the following popup window, choose “Yes” to create the required start menu shortcut and desktop icon to start the application later on.
